A person who consults with another or others. This person is an expert who is called on for professional advice.

As a consultant you must be sure that your answers and opinions are based on facts and not just a guess.

If you are a true consultant you're paid for the advice and information that you give out. It is true that most people give out advice without being paid for it, this doesn't make you a professional in the field. 

To become a professional consultant you must be paid for your advice!
